Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar continues to transcend hip-hop. After linking with Imagine Dragons on the remix to “Radioactive,” the TDE lyricist rocks with Aussie psych-rock band Tame Impala on “Backwards,” their genre-bending collaboration for the Divergent soundtrack.

K-Dot unleashes a vicious verse on top of the lush production, which is a reworking of Tame Impala’s Lonerism cut “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards.”

Due March 11, the Divergent soundtrack also features Pia Mia, Chance the Rapper, A$AP Rocky, Ellie Goulding, and more.

Listen to “Backwards” below and stream the entire soundtrack at Pitchfork.
