Frank Ocean Hits the Studio to Work on Sophomore Album
With his Chipotle lawsuit behind him, Frank Ocean has been hard at work on his sophomore album. Since deleting his Twitter and Instagram accounts, the reclusive singer has shared little about the follow-up to his 2012 Grammy-winning album channel ORANGE. But in the late hours of Monday, he posted a photo of himself on Tumblr, reassuring fans that a new album is on the way.
Photographer Nabil snapped the Odd Future crooner seated in the studio with his back facing the camera. “Frank in the lab.. Making sophomore album game,” said Nabil.
Aside from his Converse collaboration with Diplo and The Clash, we haven’t heard anything from Frank in a while.
In a 2013 interview with Zane Lowe, he explained that his new album would pick up where his last left off. “At the end of channel ORANGE, there’s ‘Golden Girl’ and it’s this beach scene, and I kind of want to extend that feel into the next record all together, kinda make it that theme,” he said.
It’s unknown if the project has changed directions since then, but expect to hear new music before the year is out.
