ELLE celebrates pop’s leading ladies in its seventh annual Women in Music issue. From Cher to Iggy Azalea, the stars don designer threads while speaking their minds on everything from feminism to the media.

“I never dove into my personal experiences. I didn’t want to be vulnerable,” says Iggy, whose debut The New Classic arrives Tuesday. “I always felt like [rap] was escapism, but sometimes you can miss being human.”
Angel Haze poses in a silk fringe top by Dolce & Gabbana and speaks about sharing her personal struggles through her music.
“I came out of the gate projectile vomiting my demons all over the place,” explains the Dirty Gold rapper. “It felt like immediately a weight had been lifted.”

“If something great happens, I celebrate it for about—I’m not even kidding—a minute and a half,” reveals Ariana, whose new single “Problem” will debut on April 26. “Then I start thinking about the next step.”
