Kingdom

Chi-town stand up. A day after dropping the video trailer, Common spreads the gospel of the streets on “Kingdom,” the first single off his upcoming album Nobody’s Smiling. The Chicago MC addresses the violence in his hometown on the rousing song, which features a verse from Vince Staples and a church choir.

“Shots ripping through his True Religion denim / These streets was my religion,” he raps.

The follow-up to 2011’s The Dreamer/The Believer, executive produced by No I.D., is set to arrive later this year, while the Hype Williams-directed video for the song will debut next month.
