New Music: Day26 – ‘The Return’ [EP]

The Return

Day26 is back by popular demand. After returning to the stage earlier this year, Diddy’s former boy band reunites on their EP The Return, their first new project in five years.

All five members—Robert Curry, Brian Andrews, Willie Taylor, Qwanell Mosley, and Michael McCluney—get back in the studio and serve up eight new tracks for their fans.

The EP, which they released for free, includes the single “Bulls#!t” and their smooth cover of Silk’s “Lose Control,” plus a collaboration with Baby Bash (“Touchdown”).

They’ve also released a 26-page e-book inspired by each track on the EP.

Hear the fellas come back strong.

    The fact that all five members can get this together this quickly while Danity Kane focuses on inter-group drama and Love & Hip Hop says a whole lot.

    Deejay Reply:

    @…, Quality over speed. Anyone can throw together 8 boring songs and give them away for free. Which is why Day 26 doesn’t see the type of success Danity Kane does.
    DK is actually “creating” a full length album and an entire promotional presentation to go along with it.

    @Deejay, Read! LOL

    Major Sushi Reply:

    @Deejay, I don’t know. But how I see it is that if this a teaser to get their name out, then that’s good, because they’re releasing this for free.

    This is an EP, not an album. Don’t get the two confused.

    It means that there’s room to assume their album will show promise, and they’ll sell.

    uh…define “popular demand”.

    Since “Make It To The Bed” is an old leak, I feel like they should’ve maybe used “Bottle for my Baby” or “Let It Go” instead of leaving “Touchdown” as the only Hype song. They sound good though and nevertheless, i’m still rooting for them and DK.
