Bridget Kelly Embarks on ‘The Road to Independence’ [Trailer]

Bridget Kelly

As America celebrates its independence this month, Bridget Kelly is declaring hers with “Bridget Kelly: The Road to Independence.”

The short docu-series chronicles the 28-year-old singer’s personal and musical development since the announcement of her departure from Roc Nation last month.

From the stage with Jay Z to third world countries, follow Bridget as she steps out of her comfort zone of the typical R&B starlet and embarks on a new chapter in her career as an independent artist.

The trailer also features a new song from Bridget, who is readying her long-awaited debut for September.

“‘Cause the world’s gon’ count you out / So when you get up, then they’ll try to take you down / All I’m sayin’ is it’s never too late to do it all again,” she sings.

She reminds me a little bit of Melanie Fiona in the sense that she’s classy, sophisticated and very articulate with her words. I am so excited for what’s to come in her career and I will support whatever she decides to put out. She definitely has a gift for songwriting and has an amazing voice to accompany that. Thanks for the preview, Rap-Up!
