First Look: Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, & Jessie J Shoot 'Bang Bang' Video
Girl power. Days after topping the iTunes charts with their explosive anthem “Bang Bang,” Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, and Jessie J teamed up on set of the video.
The two-day shoot took place in Los Angeles on Wednesday and Thursday with Hannah Lux Davis (“I’m Out,” “23”) in the director’s chair.
Nicki snapped a selfie with her co-stars, and shared it on Instagram. “Jessie J is a stunning class act. And Ariana is a cute liddle lady bug,” she said.
Ariana reposted the photo, adding, “having the time of my life with these divas. love them more than words. both so down to earth and fierce. living for u @nickiminaj @isthatjessiej.”
The song, produced by Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, and Ilya, remains atop the U.S. iTunes chart and is No. 1 in eight other countries.
Jessie J got emotional when she heard Nicki’s verse for the first time. “They sent me her verse and I cried out of tears of joy. I was like, ‘It’s sooo good,'” she told KISS FM UK.
Nicki responded, “I’m happy to have made u cry. Lol. U truly deserve it. Your voice is incredible.”
“Bang Bang” will appear on Jessie J’s upcoming third album and the deluxe edition of Ariana’s sophomore album My Everything, due August 25.
The trio is rumored to perform together at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards in L.A. on August 24.
