Iggy Azalea Performs on 'Today' Show
Iggy Azalea took over New York’s Rockefeller Plaza for the “Today” Summer Concert Series on Friday. Her Azaleans camped out to see the 24-year-old Aussie rap sensation rock the stage with her hits.
Showing off her curves in orange and pink pants that said “The New Classic,” she performed “Work” and her No. 1 song of the summer, “Fancy,” which has been certified triple platinum.
“This song ‘Fancy’ has really changed my life,” said Iggy. “I’m just so, so thankful to Charli XCX, who did the song with me, for kinda teaming up and making magic. I think we both took something good and we made it great together.”
She also explained how she came up with her stage name and how she got into rap. “I just always loved music. I loved Missy Elliott so much,” she said. “She was one of my favorites, and being from the country, I really loved to watch music videos because I could kinda escape.”
During her interview, she announced that she and Rita Ora will perform “Black Widow” live at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards in L.A. on August 24. Iggy is nominated for seven Moonmen including Video of the Year.
