Mariah Carey Announces World Tour ‘The Elusive Chanteuse Show’

The Elusive Chanteuse Show

The Elusive Chanteuse is embarking on a world tour. Mariah Carey has announced the first dates for “The Elusive Chanteuse Show.”

The tour, her first since 2006′s “The Adventures of Mimi,” will launch with two dates in Japan on October 4 and 6 before playing 12 dates throughout Asia including Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines, and her first-ever visit to mainland China.

The set list will include a mix of Mimi’s biggest hits, fan favorites, and never-before-performed tracks off her latest album Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse.

“I want to experience the spontaneity and emotion that I put into this album on stage with my fans,” said Carey. “I can’t stop writing songs so don’t be surprised if you hear a brand new song that I just wrote the night before the show in your city!”

“The Elusive Chanteuse Show” comes in support of Carey’s critically-acclaimed album Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse, which debuted at No. 3 in June.

Who in their right mind would pay money to see Mariah mouth along to pre-recorded vocals? If I’m going to go to a concert, I want hear the music live.

@TRP, you are an idiot, bro.
Mariah Carey craps on your favorite artist any day of the week…

and Mariah does indeed lipsynch: but only during certain part of songs: (just like every artist who has ever graced a stage)..

Her performances are no different than anyone elses, with the exception that they are simply better.

Her Asian stats are insane and she rarely goes there anymore so there’s demand.

Unfortunately, I don’t see her playing the US or even Europe. She used to voluntarily not tour and only do a small quantity of shows, so she never established herself but the demand was there to coincide with her enormous success. For years, she’s been tarnishing her reputation and with the album tanking and no current popularity to fall back on, I don’t see it.

It’s a great album but little success and no ones heard it. She should’ve spent the last few years rehabbing her live reputation instead of worsening things. Her voice, while inconsistent, lacking in stamina, and unreliable, has shown massive improvements since her pregnancy but it’s still fragile.

Her last tour for Memoirs showed her inability to even pack theatres in the US, yet she can go to other countries on a whim and book massive venues with no problem.

Hopefully she pulls the rabbit out of the hat and her live show shapes up. It really needs to.

Anyway, I’m thinking she’ll do Australia and maybe a select few dates here an there but trekking cross Europe and US, I’m doubtful.

    She’s the queen.
Her album no one out right now is touching her accomplishments, vocal ability, songwriting or influence.

she’s joined the league of diana ross, barbra streisand, maddona, celine dion, cher, aretha franklin etc.. although her album flopped she can still have a successful tour although in the states she struggled but in Australia last year she sold out amphitheaters in 15mins of course she will tour the u.s but the u.s will and in my opinion should be the last leg of the tour, since the u.s lamely slept on this amazing album. She should tour asia and australia no doubt they’ve been showing her the most love lately.
