Fergie

The Dutchess is coming back for her throne. Eight years after the release of her solo debut, Fergie is working on a new album.

The Black Eyed Peas singer is finishing a sequel to her 2006 album The Dutchess. Sources tell Billboard that there’s a “good bet” that the album will be released in 2015.

The first single, reportedly titled “L.A.LOVE (la la),” is expected to arrive as early as next week.

Fergie alluded to the new music by asking her fans to submit photos of themselves “doing things L.A.-style” and “making the L.A. [sign] with their fingers.” The photos will be used in an upcoming lyric video.

She is working on the new material with hitmaking machine Mike WiLL Made-It, who has produced hits for superstars including Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, and Lil Wayne.

During her appearance on “Chelsea Lately” last month, Fergie confirmed that she has been back in the studio. “It’s coming!” she said.

The Dutchess has sold 3 million copies and spawned three No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 including “London Bridge,” “Glamorous,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.”

UPDATE: Fergie has announced a Sept. 29 release date for her new single “L.A.LOVE (la la).”
