Chris Brown, Beyoncé, & Pharrell Lead Soul Train Awards Nominations

Breezy is on top. Chris Brown leads the pack with seven nominations at the Soul Train Awards 2014.

The R&B superstar scores nods in categories including Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Song of the Year for “Loyal” featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga, and Video of the Year for “New Flame” featuring Usher.

Beyoncé follows with six nominations, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for “Drunk in Love,” and Pharrell Williams is next in line with five nominations, including Best R&B/Soul Male Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for G I R L.

In addition to Beyoncé and Pharrell, the Album of the Year category includes John Legend’s Love in the Future, Drake’s Nothing Was the Same, Janelle Monaé’s The Electric Lady, and Michael Jackson’s Xscape.

Jhené Aiko, who was on hand to announce the nominees on “The Wendy Williams Show,” lands four nominations including Best New Artist and Video of the Year for “The Worst.”

Hosted by Wendy Williams, this year’s show will return to the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on November 7, and air on Centric and BET on November 30 at 8 p.m. EST.
