New Music: Wale - 'The Chess Match'

  /  12.22.2014

Checkmate. On the eve of Festivus, Wale leaks a new record for his fans. Following the go-go-inspired “Miracle on U Street,” the D.C. spitter gets introspective on “The Chess Match,” which features an intro from Jerry Seinfeld.

“In the grand scheme of life, we like pieces on a board / Look inside yours, you a king or a pawn?” he asks.

Festivus, which was produced in collaboration with A-Trak, marks the prequel to Wale’s 2015 LP The Album About Nothing.
