D'Angelo Is Coming to 'SNL'

  /  01.20.2015

Live from New York, it’s D’Angelo. The reclusive singer will make his return to the spotlight on “Saturday Night Live.”

D’Angelo and his band The Vanguard will serve as musical guest on the Jan. 31 episode with host J.K. Simmons, it was announced today.

The R&B veteran ended his nearly 15-year hiatus last month with the release of his third album Black Messiah, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. “SNL” marks his first public appearance since the record’s release.

He will also play a show at the Apollo Theater in Harlem on Feb. 7 before launching his “Second Coming Tour” throughout Europe this spring.
