Rihanna Swims with Sharks in Harper’s Bazaar

Rihanna has posed with snakes, bared her naked body, and now she’s swimming with sharks in her most dangerous shoot yet.

The wild child goes underwater for the March 2015 issue of Harper’s Bazaar. In the fearless photos, shot by photographer and certified diver Norman Jean Roy, a brave RiRi dons a one-piece while swimming just inches away from a sand tiger shark at Tampa’s Florida Aquarium. While it may look scary (and probably required a huge insurance policy), she was up for the challenge.

The shoot was inspired by the 40th anniversary of Jaws, a movie Rihanna grew up watching. “It freaked me out because I was a beach baby, so every time a new Jaws came out I would take months off from the beach or just sit on the sand,” said the Barbados beauty. “If I happened to get in the water, my dad would hum the theme music, and I was right back out of it. But that was really my fault because I was obsessed with Jaws. Steven Spielberg was my childhood hero.”

The “FourFiveSeconds” singer flaunts her killer style in a gold Balmain jumpsuit and rests in the jaws of a shark while modeling a Chanel swimsuit.

Not only is she fearless with her fashion, she has a fearless outlook on life. “I think I’m like most people—we fear the unknown and the things that have yet to come to pass, which are the very things that don’t deserve to be feared. When you give God complete control, it’s very hard not to be fearless.”
