The 87th Annual Academy Awards were held on Sunday. In addition to the glamorous red carpet moments and acceptance speeches, some of music’s biggest stars including Lady Gaga, Common, John Legend, and Jennifer Hudson hit the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to perform songs from this year’s nominated films.

Following their performances at the Grammys earlier this month, Common and John Legend brought the crowd to its feet with their Oscar-winning song “Glory” from the civil rights movie Selma.

“The Oscars are the mountaintop and we will be at the mountaintop with this performance,” Common told Ryan Seacrest during a pre-show interview. “We’re gonna give our all and this is gonna be very unique, the whole presentation, the set is beautiful.”

Rita Ora changed out of her blue Marchesa gown for her performance of the Diane Warren-penned “Grateful” from the Beyond the Lights soundtrack.

Questlove popped up during Tegan and Sara and The Lonely Island’s performance of “Everything Is Awesome” from The Lego Movie.

Adam Levine and his band Maroon 5 performed “Lost Stars” from the movie Begin Again, in which he co-stars.

As part of the in memoriam segment, Jennifer Hudson paid tribute to Hollywood’s fallen stars with an emotional performance of “I Can’t Let Go” from the TV musical “Smash.”

“This is for all the people who shared their talents and their lives with us,” said JHUD.

Lady Gaga celebrated the 50th anniversary of The Sound of Music with a soaring tribute, which received a blessing from legendary actress Julie Andrews.
