Kendrick Lamar Plays New Music for Michael Jackson's Son Prince

Kendrick Lamar is keeping a tight lid on his new music, but he did give Michael Jackson’s son a sneak peek. The Compton rapper played a few tracks for the late legend’s son, Prince Jackson.

The 18-year-old shared a few photos from their meeting this week. “Had the great honor of meeting Kendrick and hearing some of his new tracks for his upcoming album with @RealOBee,” said Prince.

His friend Omer Bhatti was also one of the lucky ones to hear the new music and added, “Music is on another level.”

Kendrick’s album is slated for release in the first half of the year. In December, he performed an untitled song live on the finale of “The Colbert Report,” but told Billboard that it’s unlikely to appear on the album.

Earlier this month, he debuted his powerful song “The Blacker the Berry” and won two Grammys for his self-love anthem “i.”

Kendrick will perform some of the new material live during his festival tour this summer, which includes Bonnaroo, ESSENCE Festival, and BET Experience.
