New Music: Wale feat. J. Cole - 'The Pessimist'

  /  03.28.2015

Wale and J. Cole are back at it again. Following their 2011 collaboration “Bad Girls Club,” the dynamic duo tackles hopelessness on the soulful “The Pessimist.” Following a sound bite from George Costanza on “Seinfeld,” the D.C. rapper drops some knowledge with his thought-provoking words.

“Who am I to change perception? / If a ni**a kill a ni**a he’s another statistic,” spits Wale, while Cole sings the hook: “Falling out with my friends again, but it make no difference to me / Goddamn I’m hopeless.”

The Osinachi-produced track can be found on Wale’s The Album About Nothing, due Tuesday. In addition to Cole, the album features Usher, Miguel, and SZA, plus production from Jake One, DJ Dahi, and DJ Khalil.
