  /  04.29.2015

Chance the Rapper and The Social Experiment’s new album Surf is coming sooner than you think. During a show at Michigan State University on Tuesday, the Chicago rapper revealed that the project will be out within a week (via Complex).

News of the release date spread across social media.

Chance originally announced that the free album would be available by the end of 2014. It showcases his trumpet player Nico Segal aka Donnie Trumpet.

“It’s a big step for all of us all putting our heads together and letting Nico hold the reigns and carry it,” Chance told Billboard. “There’s a lot of great instrumentation. A lot of input from cool writers.”

Chance has also been in the studio with Frank Ocean, J. Cole, Migos, Rick Rubin, Emily King, and Francis and the Lights’ Francis Starlite.
