The Weeknd Performs, Drake Surprises at Much Music Video Awards

The Weeknd made a triumphant return to Toronto at the Much Music Video Awards on Sunday. The Canadian crooner took the stage to perform his Fifty Shades of Grey hit “Earned It” as well as his new single “The Hills.”

He also went home with four awards including Best Director (“Often”), Best Pop Video (“Earned It”), Most Buzzworthy Canadian (“Earned It”), and Video of the Year (“Often”).

His fellow Canadian Drake also picked up the award for Best Hip-Hop Video, which he shared with P Reign and Future for “DnF.” October’s Very Own surprised the crowd and P Reign by crashing the stage and shouting out some bad tings including Gigi Hadid. “You’re a sweetie pie tonight,” he told the model.
