Birdman Denies Involvement in Plot to Kill Lil Wayne

  /  07.24.2015

Birdman is finally speaking out about the allegations that have been swirling for the past week. The Cash Money boss claims that he had no involvement in a murder-for-hire plot against Lil Wayne.

In June, an indictment was filed in Cobb County, Ga., that mentioned Birdman and Young Thug. The charges—against a man named Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, Thug’s tour manager—allege a conspiracy to shoot up Weezy’s tour buses back in April, and claims that the perpetrator called Birdman immediately after the deed was done.

TMZ now reports that Birdman strenuously denies any link between him and Winfrey. The police are interested because two phones registered to Birdman called each other immediately after the incident, but apparently everyone involved with Cash Money or Young Money uses phones registered to Birdman.

For his part, the Cash Money chief has reportedly assured Weezy that he wasn’t involved in any way, and has vowed to help him figure out who was behind the shooting.
