Drake Roasts Meek Mill, Brings Out Kanye West & Future at OVO Fest

  /  08.03.2015

Meek Mill was the guest of honor at the sixth annual OVO Fest, and he wasn’t even in the country. In the wake of their explosive feud, Drake took the opportunity to roast his rival during his annual hometown concert—and he didn’t hold back.

Following an opening set from PARTYNEXTDOOR with special guest P. Reign, Drake took the stage at Toronto’s Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on Monday night (Aug. 3). While Meek memes displayed on screen, he opened with his pair of Meek diss tracks, “Charged Up” and “Back to Back,” which he performed for the first time live.

U.K. rapper Skepta took the stage as the first guest of the evening to perform his single “Shutdown.” Future was next, serving up his street anthems “March Madness,” “Trap Ni**as,” “Real Sisters,” and “Fuck Up Some Commas.”

Drake praised the Dirty Sprite 2 rapper, declaring, “If there’s anybody that got the world on fire it’s you, my ni**a. Make some noise for super Future.”

But that was only the beginning. Drizzy kept the surprises coming with Kanye West, who performed a 45-minute set of hits including “All Day,” “Don’t Like,” “Mercy,” “Wolves,” and “Black Skinhead.” Yeezus also brought out Travi$ Scott—fresh from jail—for “Upper Echelon” and “Antidote.”

Drake and ‘Ye came together for “Blessings” before Drizzy continued with his remix to Fetty Wap’s “My Way” and the “Cha Cha”-sampled “Hotline Bling,” which he performed for the first time.

Pharrell Williams emerged for “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Get Lucky,” and “Freedom.” He also praised the Canadian rapper for repping the 6.

“This guy holds your city and your country down in a way that’s so unbelievable,” said Skateboard P.

Drake kept things going with cuts off If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late including “10 Bands” and “Know Yourself.” “He ain’t ready for that 3 Peat,” said Drake in reference to a rumored third Meek diss track.

The crowd started chanting “Fuck Meek Mill,” but Drake told them to quiet down because it was all in good fun. He then went into “Energy,” switching up the lyrics to reference Meek yet again.

“My acting days are over, fuck that ni**a for life!” he said to cheers from the audience.

Incredible night for the city! 6th Annual in the books. Thank you.

He capped off the triumphant evening by performing “Back to Back” for a second time, basking in the glow of his victory.

As for Meek, he was busy getting his teeth whitened.
