Trailer: August Alsina - 'Song Cry'

  /  10.26.2015

August Alsina makes the “Song Cry” in the emotional trailer for his new single. In the dark and chilling clip, which he co-directed alongside Payne Lindsey, the New Orleans crooner kicks back in his Range Rover and stares out the window as the rain pours down. He reflects on fame and his brother’s death, while a crowd gathers at a funeral. A woman’s bloodcurdling cry can be heard alongside images of protests in Ferguson and footage of August fainting onstage.

“Sometimes I just cry and cry and cry,” he says. “There’s so much pain that lies within my eyes like my brother’s tragic demise.”

August’s sophomore album This Thing Called Life is due later this year.
