New Music: Drake & Rick Ross - 'Empire'

  /  01.25.2016

While we await Views From the 6, an unreleased Drake song has sprung from the vault. “Empire,” a collaboration with Rick Ross, appears on the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League album, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. For All.

Drake’s verse is nearly eight years old (pre So Far Gone) and was taken from “Cannon Ball” off Colin Munroe’s 2008 mixtape Colin Munroe is the Unsung Hero. Meanwhile, Rozay’s verse is from his 2008 collaboration with Birdman, “Addicted,” off their joint mixtape The H. These days, the MMG mogul and Cash Money boss are spending more time taking shots at each other than trading bars.

The 12-track set, which is available for purchase, also includes contributions from Chris Brown, Wale, R. Kelly, T.I., Jeezy, Future, and Lupe Fiasco.
