Lil Wayne Talks 'ColleGrove' & Beyoncé on 'SportsCenter'

  /  02.17.2016

Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz premiered their ColleGrove collaboration “Rolls Royce Weather Everyday” on “The Tonight Show” earlier this week, but the song selection came as a surprise to Weezy himself.

“We shot a video for a whole ‘nother song like two days before that,” he told ESPN’s “SportsCenter.” “So when I got on the set to rehearse and The Roots started playing that song, I didn’t know what was going on, truthfully. It was all brand new to me too.”

Of course, Wayne’s Super Bowl commercial with George Washington came up during the interview (he called it a “great look”), but so did Beyoncé’s halftime show. While Queen Bey has been criticized by some for her “Formation” set, Weezy didn’t see a reason to complain.

“I enjoyed it,” he said. “I enjoyed everything about it. I just got it mixed up. I thought it was the ‘Rhythm Nation.’ I was like, ‘Ooh, they came out with the Janet Jackson ‘Rhythm Nation.’ But that just shows you how young I am.”
