Young Thug Talks Adele, Fatherhood, & Dream Wedding in GQ

Young Thug is an ATLien in his GQ profile. As he gears up for the release of Slime Season 3, the Atlanta rapper shows off his colorful style in the March issue of the magazine.

In the fashionable flicks, the father of six rocks his Easter Sunday best—a bright blue Prada sweater with rabbits on it—and a $1200 Saint Laurent sweater emblazoned with a roaring dinosaur. In another shot, he sports a blue, brown, and orange Bottega Veneta cardigan to go with his Balmain skinny jeans, and later a Gucci jacket to match his bright yellow Salvatore Ferragamo corduroys.

And while GQ points out that Thug was difficult to pin down for some solid Q&A time, the gambling rapper did speak about a variety of topics during the interview including Adele, children, and his upcoming wedding to fiancée Jerrika Karlae, who appears in his “Worth It” video.

Check out highlights from Thugger’s interview, which hits newsstands nationwide on Feb. 23.

On Adele: “You know who I want to do a song with no matter what? Adele. Shit’d be over.”

On where he wants to be in 10 years: “Shit. Top of the world. You know where. Where everybody want to be.”

On his dream wedding: “Like Heaven Gates…A million [guests]…I want everyone to see it…Bob Marley and Kanye West [would play music]…Soul food [would be served]. My mom would cook, of course. She cook everything. Neck bone. She like real, real, like, motherfuckin’ black-people food. Like oxtail and shit. All kinda crazy shit.”

On his six kids: “They ain’t easy. It be like, ‘If I could take this back? Yes, what the fuck was I thinking!’ Haha.”

On how children have changed his life: “The main part is you won’t be able to do what you always did. That’s the number one rule to having a kid: You can’t be who you were.”

On whether it’s dangerous to be him: “It’s dangerous to be anybody popular.”

On backing down: “I’d much rather back down than get shot up…But I know I would get shot up. Because I won’t back down. I’m not backing down.”
