Lady Gaga Performs 'Til It Happens to You' at Oscars

Lady Gaga triumphs at the Oscars. A year after performing an homage to The Sound of Music, the pop superstar delivered another powerful performance of her Oscar-nominated song “Til It Happens to You” at Sunday’s Academy Awards.

Following an introduction from Vice President Joe Biden, a white-clad Gaga started out at a white piano before the curtain rose and revealed victims of sexual abuse. The young men and women stretched out their arms, which were inscribed with messages like “Survivor” and “It happened to me.” In a show of solidarity, they held hands, earning a standing ovation from the crowd.

Despite her winning performance, Gaga and co-writer Diane Warren didn’t win the Oscar, which ended up going to Sam Smith for “Writing’s On the Wall” from Spectre.
