New Music: Jennifer Lopez & Lin-Manuel Miranda - 'Love Make the World Go Round'
Jennifer Lopez and “Hamilton” star Lin-Manuel Miranda are out to prove that “Love Make the World Go Round.”
The two stars have collaborated on a new song that they’ve called “a message for the world benefitting Somos Orlando” in the wake of last month’s massacre at Pulse nightclub in the city.
Now called the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history, the incident was sparked when a gunman shot and killed 49 people and left 53 injured at the club before he was killed in a standoff with police.
“The song exists to put more love in the world,” Lin tweeted. “Raise money for those affected by Orlando. And you can dance to it.”

Lin, best known for his work on Broadway, raps on the track with the theme of love in mind. “What we’ve got is love, even when the sinners hate us,” he rhymes. “We cannot let them diminish or intimidate us / We sing out, we got the rhythm and the truth on our side / We cut through the divide and we do it with pride.”
On Monday, the duo will take “Love” to national television, performing the track on “Today.”
