Toni Braxton Hospitalized for Lupus; Birdman Rushes to Her Side

  /  10.03.2016

Toni Braxton has been hospitalized for the past four days and is in serious condition due to complications from her ongoing battle with lupus, according to TMZ.

Braxton’s rumored boyfriend Birdman reportedly rushed to her side in the midst of a tour run with Jaquees.

The hospitalization comes just days before the “Braxton Family Values” star is set to launch her own “Hits Tour.” Scheduled to begin Oct. 8 in Oakland, the run is slated to end Nov. 12 in Atlantic City. No word yet on if or how this will impact the trek.

Last year, Braxton spoke about her issues with lupus during an interview with The Huffington Post.

“Some days I can’t balance it all,” she said. “I just have to lay in bed. Pretty much when you have lupus you feel like you have the flu every day. But some days you get through it. But for me, if I’m not feeling well, I tend to tell my kids, ‘Oh mommy’s just going to relax in bed today. I kind of take it easy.'”

At the time, she also explained how lupus has impacted her performances. “That’s the toughest part, when I have to perform,” she explained. “So often, when it’s like that, it’s a lot of, ‘You sing!’ to the audience, you know. They kind of help me out a little bit without realizing it.”
