Drake Postpones Remaining Tour Dates Due to Ankle Injury

  /  10.10.2016

Drake’s “Summer Sixteen Tour” has come to an end, at least for now.

After postponing select dates due to an ankle injury last week, the 6 God has announced that the rest of the tour will also be postponed. However, no new dates have been announced.

A rep for the rapper issued a statement today (Oct. 10).

“Drake suffered a severe ankle injury during the tour which he did his best to power through,” the statement reads. “By doing this, he made his injury worse. Under doctors orders and to ensure Drake only ever gives fans the performances they deserve, he will be postponing the remaining 3 dates of his Summer Sixteen tour to allow him time to recuperate his ankle injury. Drake’s fans mean the world to him. Seeing their faces and performing his music for them is what he loves to do the most and he can’t wait to get back on stage.”

Prior to the announcement, Drizzy was scheduled to perform in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Brooklyn.

On Oct. 5, Drake issued his own statement on the injury. “WE ARE OVER 50 SHOWS IN AND I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING TO POWER THROUGH MY RECENT ANKLE INJURY AND LEAVE IT ALL OUT THERE ON THE STAGE EVERY NIGHT,” he wrote.

Earlier today, Drake also announced “The Boy Meets World” European tour, which is set to start Jan. 21 in Amsterdam and end Mar. 16 in Cologne. See the full tour dates here.
