New Music: Charli XCX feat. Lil Yachty - 'After the Afterparty'

It’s a never-ending party for Charli XCX on her latest single, the Lil Yachty-assisted “After the Afterparty.”

Over upbeat pop production from FRED, Stargate, and SOPHIE, Charli lets fans know what a night out is supposed to be like.

“After the afterparty, we’re gonna keep it goin’,” she sings. “We’re gonna rip it up, the neighbors might complain / ‘Cause after the afterparty, we’re gonna stay ’til mornin’ / Then when the time is up, we’ll do it all again.”

In between the revelry, Lil Boat also takes some time to shout out Whitney Houston. “Shouts out to Whitney, she was so wicked,” he raps.

Currently, Charli is finalizing her third studio album following 2014’s Sucker and 2013’s True Romance. But for now, she’s unleashed “After the Afterparty” to soundtrack your weekend.
