Preview Major Lazer's 'Ring Her Up' Featuring Nicki Minaj & PARTYNEXTDOOR

  /  12.12.2016

Nicki Minaj and PARTYNEXTDOOR are the latest stars teaming up with Major Lazer. However, fans may have to wait until next month to hear the final product.

Recently, a video featuring a snippet of their new collaboration “Ring Her Up/Who Knew” surfaced online. The clip was taken at a nightclub and features a DJ hyping up a crowd over the island-inspired production.

“You ain’t gotta wait for me,” sings PND. “You ain’t gotta wait for me to give you my love.” Later, he adds: “I’m gon’ ring up.”

Nicki isn’t heard on the teaser, but she is set to appear on the dance floor-ready track, which Diplo first announced at the AMAs in November. The full version, off Major Lazer’s forthcoming album Music Is the Weapon, is set to drop Jan. 6.

Last week, another teaser arrived online. Footage from what is believed to be the music video popped up on Twitter, featuring Diplo and a Major Lazer shoutout. In the clip, dancers make selfie videos while performing synchronized choreography.

Diplo and Minaj have collaborated in the past on Madonna’s “Bitch I’m Madonna.”

And there may be another Diplo and Nicki collabo on the way. In October, she revealed the idea behind a potential song produced by the Major Lazer star.

“When I was working on The Pinkprint, I wanted to do a song with Remy [Ma] and Foxy,” she told Power 105. “I still have the song to this day. It was on a Diplo beat, but was super hood and hard. I love them both so I think that’s only a matter of time before she and I do something.”

Remy would later tell Rap-Up why the song was never recorded. “I don’t think that’s what people wanted to hear, that combination,” she said. “That was just my personal decision so I didn’t want to do that.”
