Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill's Breakup Sparked by Birthday Vacation Dispute

New details have emerged regarding Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill’s highly-publicized breakup.

Insiders say that the couple ended their relationship following a disagreement in Turks and Caicos, where they were celebrating Nicki’s 34th birthday in early December.

According to TMZ, Minaj was upset that her then beau was spending too much time with friends and not enough time “paying attention to her.” After she confronted him about it, Mill became upset and left the island without her. This caused Minaj to finally call it quits.

There have been rumors of infidelity surrounding the relationship. Some claimed Meek was cheating with a woman named Sonye Rasool. However, Rasool says she hasn’t been with Mill in years and denies any cheating. She’s reportedly planning defamation suits against outlets who involved her in the breakup storyline.

Earlier this month, Nicki confirmed that she was no longer with Meek. “I am single,” she tweeted. “Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year. Love u.”

Mill seemed to respond by disparaging the sneakers Nicki wore in a 2013 video for Ciara’s “I’m Out.”

Over the weekend, she appeared beside Lil Wayne during an interview with NFL Network, where Tunechi discussed his plans for 2017. “I’ve got my key players,” he said. “I’ve got my Nicki, I’ve got my Drizzy. So, we’re gonna be alright…As a matter of fact, I’ve got my Nicki right here.”

Minaj is reportedly working on the follow-up to 2014’s The Pinkprint. In recent interviews, she called it an “epic” LP.
