Drake Previews New Music at 'Boy Meets World Tour' Kickoff

  /  01.29.2017

Drake kicked off his overseas “Boy Meets World Tour” in Amsterdam on Saturday (Jan. 28). The action-packed set was filled with dazzling visual displays reminiscent of his celebrated “Summer Sixteen” run, but also enhanced with new music.

Displaying a large, colorful globe, the 6 God shared a new track that reportedly features United Kingdom MC Giggs. Letting the beat breathe, Drizzy brags about his financial demands while seemingly addressing those Jennifer Lopez rumors on the new slapper.

“I get my dough in advance / Love is just not in my plans / Not even taking a chance,” he raps in a flow that some fans have compared to Lil Uzi Vert’s.

The yet-to-be-named song was the only sign of new music on this date. Otherwise, Drizzy stuck to fan favorites and recently-released cuts like “Hotline Bling,” “Controlla,” and “Fake Love.”

Despite previously saying he would never perform “Back to Back” again, Drake delivered his Grammy-nominated Meek Mill diss last night. He did so under the moving spheres that also adorned his “SS” jaunt.

Later, in a speech about his next Amsterdam show (set for Feb. 26), Drizzy seemed to announce a new release timetable for his upcoming “playlist,” More Life, which he recently equated to a mixtape.

“I want to thank y’all for a beautiful first show,” he said. “Thank you very much. I really do appreciate you. And you know what the good news is? I know we got three more shows in Amsterdam, right? But the best part about that is, if you coming back to any more shows, More Life is going to be out, we can just do some whole new shit. I love y’all for being patient, holding me down. It meant a lot. And for being the best fucking first crowd any artist can ever ask for, each and every one of y’all.”

This might mean that More Life can be expected between now and Feb. 26. However, that is subject to change. Previously, the album was expected in 2016 before it was delayed for the new year.

“The Boy Meets World Tour” is set to continue Monday (Jan. 30) in London, where Drizzy is set to perform five nights in a row. From there, the run will continue through April 28 in Amsterdam.
