Alicia Keys Performs 'Illusion of Bliss' on 'Kimmel'

  /  02.10.2017

Before she takes the stage at this weekend’s Grammys, Alicia Keys took over “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday (Feb. 10) for a performance of her Here single “Illusion of Bliss.”

A makeup-free Alicia sat behind her piano for much of the riveting performance, while belting out the evocative track. “I’m sick of being judged,” she sang with raw emotion.

Afterwards, “The Voice” coach sat down with Kimmel to discuss her six-year-old son Egypt and his production on Kendrick Lamar’s “untitled 07.” “He played all the instruments,” she explained. “He played the different keyboards, he programmed the drums, he did what he heard. Kendrick met him at the Super Bowl last year and said how much he was really connected to him. He said, ‘If you send me something, I’ll try to use it.’ And he honored it.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Alicia opened up about her 2002 Grammy experience. Sharing a photo of herself with five gramophones and an awestruck smile, Keys said: “That’s basically how I felt. That perfectly sums up the way I felt that whole night right there. Like, ‘Woah!’ Unbelievable.'”

On Sunday, the 15-time Grammy winner will join Best New Artist nominee Maren Morris for a performance at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards in L.A.
