New Music: Cardi B feat. Offset - 'Lick'

  /  02.17.2017

Cardi B fuels romance rumors, tapping Migos’ Offset for a new version of “Lick” off her recently-released mixtape Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 2.

The new single kicks off with Cardi’s Bronx-inspired chorus before Offset delivers the first verse. “They know they can’t stop a G,” he raps. “Bitch, do not talk to me / Diamonds start hitting, she swallow me.”

Cardi takes over from there, offering a stinging verse of her own. “I swear bitches got me on some new shit,” she raps. “I swear ni**as got me feelin’ ruthless / Too much mo’fuckers done doubted me / That’s why I had to just prove it.”

This is an alternate version of “Lick.” Sans Offset, the original features two verses from Cardi, including the verse that appears on this edition.

Recently, the “Love & Hip Hop” star and Offset have teased a rumored romance on social media. The pair even went to the Super Bowl together earlier this month.

GBMV2, the sequel to last year’s Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 1, boasts guest appearances from Casanova, DJ Hardwerk, Just Vlad, Konshens, Hoodcelebrityy, and Josh X.

“My music is for the bitches that got anger in their heart, ’cause every bitch got motherfucking, goddamn anger in their heart,” Cardi told Complex. “So I do music for bitches that like to pop off or think about popping off. I feel like everybody [does] music about glamorizing themselves […] That’s just not me […] I did not grow up with money; however, I grew up popping off, I grew up in the hood, I grew up with bitches that like to fight, and that’s what my music is about.”
