New Music: Iggy Azalea feat. Lil Uzi Vert – ‘Can’t Lose’

Iggy Azalea and Lil Uzi Vert make a winning team on their new collaboration.

As part of Def Jam’s star-studded Direct Deposit Vol. 2 compilation, the Aussie rapper has unleashed “Can’t Lose,” which is also set to appear on her upcoming album Digital Distortion.

Over a futuristic beat, Uzi boasts about his winning ways. “I am a winner, can’t lose,” he sings on the Auto-Tuned chorus. “Keep on winning, I can’t lose / I am not worried about you.”

I-G-G-Y pops up with “dat way” slang and a throwback to 2014’s “Fancy” smash. “Dat way,” she raps. “You ain’t talking about the money, go that way / If you late with the check, I need back pay / All these diamonds in my neck, I feel fancy.”

Following the song’s release, the Wilhemina model also provided an update on her oft-delayed sophomore album Digital Distortion.

“I felt it was important to say; I know its been a long wait for my album – SORRY,” she tweeted. “I hope my fans understand my life has been filled with so many personal changes. I felt it was important I made some creative changes too – I needed my album to reflect where my head’s at in 2017.”

Through her tweets, Azalea also promised more to come soon. “I really appreciate the patience & I’m so excited for all the new music, new visuals, album preorder dates etc. I’ll be releasing throughout the month of March,” she wrote. “Thanks for your support.”

Digital Distortion was first announced in October of 2015. Last year, around this time, Iggy seemed to be on album rollout mode. She released “Azillion” and “Team.” The latter track even received a video and was performed at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and “The Tonight Show.”

Since then, however, Azalea has split with former fiancé Nick Young and was rumored to be dating French Montana.
