Rihanna Designs Jewelry Collection with Chopard

  /  04.07.2017

Continuing her already impressive 2017 run, Rihanna has announced a new collaboration with the high-end jewelry line Chopard.

The nine-piece limited edition collection was inspired by the “Diamond” singer’s native Barbados and its colorful Carnival. The pieces were co-designed by RiRi and Chopard’s co-president and creative director Caroline Scheufele and they are set to launch at the Cannes Film Festival next month, according to WWD.

“Rihanna and I collaborated closely on the collections, so you can feel her unstoppable energy, strong creativity, and inherent sense of design in every piece,” said Scheufele. “With her unique style, she redefines the way people see and wear jewelry.”

Fans have already been given a sneak peek thanks to RiRi, who wore a pair of earrings from the collection to the Grammys this year. The floral-inspired chandelier earrings helped her become one of Music’s Biggest Night’s best-dressed stars. She also rocked a pair of diamond earrings from the collection on the March cover of Harper’s Bazaar.

The Humanitarian of the Year — who recently debuted her Fenty Puma by Rihanna collection at Paris Fashion Week — is expected to show off some of her Chopard designs at the Cannes Film Festival, which kicks off May 17. Luc Besson’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which stars RiRi and Cara Delevingne, could be the festival’s opening night film.

Only 2,000 editions of each design were made. They are slated to arrive at Chopard boutiques in June and are available for pre-order today. Fans should also expect an ad for the jewelry line featuring Rihanna to appear in the U.S. and abroad.

Aside from her work as a creative director for Puma, Rihanna is also a contributing creative director of Stance socks. She revealed the company’s spring collection earlier this week.

In the past, she’s collaborated with brands like Manolo Blahnik. Next month, she will also be honored by the Parsons School of Design for her creative works and philanthropy.
