Kendrick Lamar’s No. 1 album DAMN. is getting rave reviews from many people, including his mother, Paula. The rapper shared a heartwarming and emoji-filled text message from her on Saturday (Apr. 22).
“OMG,” she wrote. “This cd is bombbbbb! You should of put me and your daddy on this one too j/k. This is your best one to me, no bullshit. Your daddy said u looked stressed out on the cover lol I said ni**a that’s the point, we always stressing him out. Since a Lil boy you been a over thinker though…But What you say, a ni**a make it look sexy? Boy you can make a dog laugh.
“Lil ken ken milli rockin’ to it,” she added. “He so weak lolol Album Is bomb bomb bomb bomb! I missed the Coachella stream. They say you was floating in air??!!! Your fans are some die hards. I love them.”
Throughout the text message, Lamar’s mom used many emojis, including the laughing smiley, prayer hands, and the “see no evil” smiley. She also used several “100” emojis.
Paula’s oldest son replied with prayer hands of his own: “You going emoji brazy. Who taught you ‘100?’ Lol.” K-Dot share the exchange with three dead skull emojis on Instagram.
Kendrick’s mom — who appeared throughout good kid, m.A.A.d. city with K-Dot’s father — has several reasons to be proud of her son, whose album DAMN. earned the largest debut of 2017. Tonight, he’s also set to close out the second weekend of Coachella.
