Stream Young M.A.'s 'Herstory' EP
Young M.A. is still going strong off her breakout hit “OOOUUU.” Now, the burgeoning New York MC follows it up with Herstory, her first official project since the song was released.
Aside from “OOOUUU,” Herstory also features the previously-released “Hot Sauce.” Monica is the EP’s lone guest on “JOOTD,” which samples the R&B legend’s “Don’t Take It Personal (Just One of Dem Days).”
Throughout the 7-track EP, M.A. finds herself in a confident mode. “Celebrating every day now,” she spits on the “M.A. Intro.” “Every day, we away now / It used to be that Hennessy / Now, it’s champagne for the pain now.” Later, she adds: “They was sleeping, that ass is awake now / Fuck everybody else, it’s all about M.A. now.”
M.A. warned fans not to expect a full-length album. “I know people are looking forward to an album from me, but I don’t think it needs to be rushed either,” she told The FADER. “Nowadays albums don’t come out as frequent as they used to, so I’m not too sure if I’ma drop an album as soon as people would think. I’m just trying to go off a vibe: how they feeling this, how they feeling that?”
