Get a First Look at Donald Glover in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'
Donald Glover meets Spidey.
Fans are getting a first look at the rapper-actor in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming film, thanks to the movie’s official new trailer.
The two-and-a-half-minute clip shows the “Redbone” star’s unnamed character talking to Peter Parker (Tom Holland) about why he needs to be more intimidating. “You’ve gotta get better at this part of the job,” says Gambino.
“I don’t understand,” replies Parker. “I’m intimidating.”
Zendaya also appears in the action-packed clip. Starring as Michelle, the actress seems concerned about Parker’s well-being. “Hey, where are you going?” she asks with sincerity in her voice. “What are you hiding, Peter?” Then, with a swift, snarky tone switch, she adds: “Just kidding, I don’t care. Bye.”
Many fans pushed for Glover, who voiced Miles Morales in “Ultimate Spider-Man,” to star in The Amazing Spider-Man back in 2012. That was the basis for Logic’s hit “Black SpiderMan.” “Spider-Man should be black,” Logic raps on the Everybody single. “I vote for Glover instead.”
Co-starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Marisa Tomei, and Michael Keaton, Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7.
