Playboi Carti Performs 'Magnolia' on 'Kimmel'
Playboi Carti goes from Milly Rocking in New York to Milly Rocking on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
On Monday (June 19), Young Carti performed his breakout single “Magnolia” on the late night program. Backed by a live band while sporting a Natural Born Killers T-shirt, the young spitter danced across the stage and pretended to shoot at opps.
“Magnolia” is a single off Carti’s self-titled debut album, which dropped back in April. Since then, he’s teamed up with the likes of A$AP Mob, Frank Ocean, and even performed with The Weeknd and Bryson Tiller.
Last week, after entering the Songwriters Hall of Fame, JAY-Z also gave a shoutout to Young Carti. In the middle of a Twitter-spree, Hov called “Magnolia” “incredible.” Coincidentally, the song soundtracks a new Sprint/TIDAL commercial that also features Beyoncé, Demi Lovato, Vic Mensa, Alicia Keys, and Big Sean.
This month, Carti also made the coveted XXL Freshman cover, which includes Kamaiyah, Kap G, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and XXXTentacion, among others.
