Rihanna Taps Kendrick Lamar & Dave Chappelle for Diamond Ball

  /  06.20.2017

Rihanna has added some serious star power to her third annual Diamond Ball. Set to take place Sept. 14 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York, the Clara Lionel Foundation event will now be hosted by Dave Chappelle and will feature a performance by Kendrick Lamar.

RiRi announced the news by explaining how proud she is of the money that will be raised for her foundation, which she started in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite.

‎”I’m thrilled that the incomparable Dave Chappelle will kick things off as the official host of this year’s Diamond Ball and Kendrick Lamar will take the stage for an unforgettable performance,” said Rihanna. “I’m proud of the Clara Lionel Foundation’s significant impact in the world over the years and deeply grateful for the continued support and commitment to advancing our mission.”

K-Dot’s appearance comes on the heels of his “LOYALTY.” collaboration with Harvard’s Humanitarian of the Year. The two recently filmed a video for the newest single off Lamar’s album DAMN.

The Diamond Ball is always a star-studded affair. In the past, it has featured performers and hosts like Lionel Richie, Brad Pitt, and Kevin Hart. Proceeds go to the Clara Lionel Foundation’s work in education, healthcare, and more.
