Future & Kendrick Lamar Perform 'Mask Off (Remix)' at BET Awards
Future and Kendrick Lamar had a ball — a masquerade ball, that is — at the BET Awards on Sunday (June 25). Performing the remix to “Mask Off” together for the first time on television, the duo lit up the Microsoft Theater.
HNDRXX kicked off the performance on his own, surrounded by chandeliers, flute players, and a bevy of beauties at a masquerade bash. Jamie Foxx and other stars watched and rapped along to the banger before K-Dot surprised the crowd.
Entering with flames rising behind him, King Kendrick emerged for his hiii-powered verse. Eventually, both Best Male Hip-Hop Artist nominees stood in a circle of fire, wearing matching denim outfits before Kendrick ended his rhyme with a call to action. “Get your ass up and be inspired,” he rapped. “You know how many bodies in the street? / Take your mask off so you can see.”
Produced by Metro Boomin and Southside, “Mask Off” appeared on Future’s self-titled LP earlier this year, while Kung Fu Kenny’s remix arrived last month.
