Chance the Rapper's Bodyguard Arrested for Battery

Chance the Rapper’s bodyguard was arrested on Thursday (Aug. 3) after he allegedly body slammed a man.

TMZ reports that 44-year-old Star Thomas was captured on the surveillance video in the lobby of the W Hotel in Chicago.

According to the report, the alleged victim was trying to get into an elevator that Chance and his entourage had already boarded at about 9 p.m., but sources say that the bodyguard blocked his entry.

Two hours after the initial run-in, Chance’s group encountered the same man once again. This time, the bodyguard allegedly body slammed him in front of the “No Problem” rapper.

The bodyguard was booked on misdemeanor simple battery. Meanwhile, Chance went on to perform at Lollapalooza for his hometown crowd, where he surprised fans with a special appearance by longtime friend and one-time foe Vic Mensa.
