New Music: Macklemore feat. Offset - 'Willy Wonka'
Got flavor? Inspired by Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Macklemore unleashes his previously-teased collaboration with Offset.
The fourth track on his just-released album Gemini, “Willy Wonka” kicks off with the Seattle rapper’s musings on listening to Lil Boosie, pulling out in a Maybach like Rick Ross, and putting his feet up on an ottoman. “I’m a motherfucking icon,” he raps. “Boots made of python / I met with the Pres. and I’m in Obama’s iPod.”
Following a flavorful Offset chorus, the Migos MC delivers a rapid-fire verse about Benihana, Punta Cana, JAY-Z aspirations, and hopping out of a Ghost. “What would you do for some dough?” he raps. “Flash! I took a picture for Vogue.”
“Willy Wonka” is one of many collaborations on Gemini, Macklemore’s first solo album since 2005’s The Language of My World, which also features Skylar Grey (“Glorious”), Lil Yachty (“Marmalade”), and Kesha (“Good Old Days”).
