Video: A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie - 'Drowning'

  /  10.04.2017

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie dives deep in the underwater video for his platinum single “Drowning.”

The Rite Brothers visual starts with images of an abandoned ship, before Artist swims into the picture, while rapping about his diamonds, escaping the projects, and his Grammy night dreams.

Throughout the bubble-filled video, other objects get tossed inside of the water, including dollar bills, necklaces, and flashy rings. While mermaids and sharks swim around him, A Boogie plays the piano underwater.

Midway through the clip, “Drowning” turns into a heist soundtracked by “If I Gotta Go.” A Boogie and a partner-in-crime break into a jewelry store and then get chased by cops, before trying to flee on a boat. The gunfire causes them to sink, resulting in the “Drowning” video.

Once the news camera footage cuts off, A Boogie is back underwater. “Wrist so icy,” he raps. “Wonder why she like me? Bitch, I’m drowning.” Kodak Black, who appears on the song, does not make a cameo in the video and his verse is also excluded from the visual.

“Drowning” is a single off A Boogie’s debut album, The Bigger Artist, which also features Chris Brown, 21 Savage, and Trey Songz, among others.
