Report: The Weeknd Initiated Breakup with Selena Gomez

New details are emerging regarding the ill-fated romance between The Weeknd and Selena Gomez.

Abel was reportedly the one who broke up with Gomez several weeks ago, and it had nothing to do with Justin Bieber. According to TMZ, the relationship simply fizzled out once summer ended.

But there’s no bad blood between the exes. Abel and Selena have reportedly spoken several times and remain friendly despite their separation.

Insiders claim that Bieber’s reconnection with Gomez didn’t happen until after her relationship with The Weeknd was over.

Abel appears to be moving on. He was seen dancing with a girl close to him at a recent event, where Offset, Metro Boomin, and 21 Savage’s new album Without Warning was playing.

Neither artist has spoken out about their split. Gomez has, however, addressed her kidney transplant during an interview with “Today.” “I hope that this inspires people to feel good,” she said. “To know that there’s really good people in the world.”
