Chris Brown & Nick Cannon to Star in 'She Ball'

Ballin’! Chris Brown and Nick Cannon are set to star in She Ball, an independent film about women’s street basketball, which is also slated to feature Cedric the Entertainer, Evan Ross, and Rebecca De Mornay.

She Ball is set to follow Avery Watts (Cannon), a single father of a 7-year-old daughter, who gets help from a women’s street ball league in order to save the Inglewood Community Center, which he manages, according to Variety.

Cannon is directing, writing, producing, and starring in the film. “I’m very excited for this film,” he said. “It’s something powerful for the culture, uplifting for the community, and the film’s main objective is to empower women! It’s going to be Ncredible!”

Nick’s Ncredible Entertainment is producing the film, along with Demetrius Spencer of One Media Worldwide, and Ball Up, the entertainment studio that’s part of the renowned street ball league.

Cannon and Spencer will serve as executive producers alongside Benjamin Sumpter, Michael Goldberg, and Robert Keetch. Meanwhile, Erika Conner and Nick Spencer are on board as co-executive producers.

The “Wild N’ Out” host will have his hand in the soundtrack too, which he will helm with Cash Money CEO Birdman.

Brown is no stranger to the big screen, with credits including Takers, Stomp the Yard, and This Christmas. But that doesn’t mean he’s leaving music behind. He recently released a 57-track deluxe edition of his album Heartbreak on a Full Moon.

Production for the film is already underway.
