Fredo Santana Dead at 27

Fredo Santana, Chicago rapper and cousin to Chief Keef, died from a fatal seizure on Friday (Jan. 19), according to several reports. He was 27.

The drill rapper, who’s worked with Childish Gambino, Travis Scott, Juelz Santana, and Kendrick Lamar, was found dead on the floor of his Los Angeles home by his girlfriend, as per TMZ.

Santana, who’s struggled with lean addiction, was recently hospitalized due to liver and kidney issues. Lean has been said to cause seizures in the past.

“I’m getting back to normal sorry to all my fans turbo bandana will not be dropping tomorrow due to my health issues,” Santana wrote back when he was hospitalized in October. “Thanks for everyone who prayed for a ni**a. I wouldn’t wish this on my worse enemy.”

Fredo’s reported death has led to an outpouring of support and condolences from artists, including Drake. “😢😢😢 Rest In Peace Santana,” he wrote on Instagram, while Travis Scott added, “Rip to my dawg. Rest up easy love you bro.”

Just days before his death, Fredo said he was working on his “favorite project” thus far. “Walking Legend 2 is my favorite project an I only got 7 songs done so far,” he wrote. “🔥🔥…… can’t wait to it’s finished an complete.”

Santana is survived by an 8-month-old son.
