NYPD Looking to Arrest Quavo After Club Brawl

  /  02.09.2018

The New York Police Department is reportedly looking to arrest Quavo over a recent nightclub brawl and robbery, but the Migos rapper’s lawyer says he’s innocent.

“This is yet another example of a young African-American hip-hop star potentially being treated unfairly by the criminal justice system,” Quavo’s lawyer Drew Findling told TMZ.

NYPD detectives have enough information to arrest Quavo and an arrest warrant is set to be issued, according to the report. Findling says that it would embarrass the police department and Manhattan’s DA office to try to prosecute the Migos star.

All of this stems from an alleged altercation with celebrity jeweler Eric the Jeweler. Sources say that Eric approached Quavo about a $10,000 debt, before he was jumped by the rapper and another man at a New York Grammy after-party. His $30,000 chain was also robbed during the incident, according to previous reports.

Migos released their latest chart-topping album Culture II last month. Since then, they tied The Beatles for most simultaneous Hot 100 hits among groups and Quavo collaborated with Iggy Azalea on “Savior.”
